Supporting APIDS
APIDS is committed to the idea that people with disabilities are able to achieve their own objectives towards an inclusive, rights-based, barrier-free society.
If you would like to support APIDS’ work, here are some suggestions:
make a regular or ad-hoc donation
share information which may be of benefit to disabled peoples’ organisations and their members
organise or participate in special fundraising events
build links between groups in Australia and Pacific Island countries
Sign up as a member if you make a donation (membership form on next page)
Remember us in your will:
You can remember APIDS in your will by making a general, unrestricted gift to assist APIDS which will be used to support DPOs in developing countries. The clause could read:
"I give Australia Pacific Islands Disability Support Limited of 49 Rubiton Court, Gisborne, Victoria the sum of $............. (or if property, securities, shares etc. then describe the gift) to be used in such manner as its Directors determine. I declare that the receipt of the Treasurer or other proper officer for the time being of the said organisation shall be a sufficient discharge to my Executors for the said bequest."
Or you can make a gift to support the work in a specific country . But we suggest you discuss this with a representative of the organisation first. In this case, replace "to be used in such manner as its Directors determine" with:"to be used for the purpose of benefitting [insert name of disabled peoples' organisation and Country] but if such purpose cannot in the opinion of the Directors be achievable then the gift is to be used in such manner as the Directors determine."
